The Rainbow Hub project is implemented with a financial support of EUR 110 147 provided by Iceland, Leichteinsten and Norway under the EEA Financial Mechanism. The 30-month initiative will end at the end of April 2022.

ABOUT US

The Rainbow Hub project is implemented with a financial support of EUR 110 147 provided by Iceland, Leichteinsten and Norway under the EEA Financial Mechanism. Its overall aim is to increase the capacity and mobilize the LGBTI community by supporting 8 self-support groups at Rainbow Hub Community Center, to provide advocacy training and to support advocacy initiatives for each group.

The eight groups that will be covered by the project are the BraveLab LGBTI youth group, the QueerFemme group, T.I.A – the trans and intersex people group, Work It OUT Club, the Group for support of parents, relatives and friends of LGBTI people, the group for people living with HIV, LGBTI Families, the group “Rights in Action”.

YOUTH LGBTI ORGANISATION "DEYSTVIE"

 Youth LGBTI organisation ‘Deystvie’ is founded in 2012 and it aims to improve the acceptance in society and overcome the negative stereotypes and discrimination that LGBTI people face every day. Our work’s focus falls on providing pro-bono legal consultations to LGBTI people, as well as other opportunities for empowering LGBTI people in Bulgaria and the encouragement of rule of law as a tool for overcoming homophobia and trans phobia as part of the everyday life of LGBTI people in Bulgaria.

GLAS FOUNDATION

 GLAS Foundation is founded in 2014. Its goal is to contribute towards a positive change in the life of lesbians, gay men, bisexual and trans people in Bulgaria by securing absolute equality and protection from all forms of discrimination. The foundation’s vision is of full participation of LGBT people in all aspects of life and society.

BILITIS FOUNDATION

 Since 2004 Bilitis is a champion in the mobilization of LGBTI people in Bulgaria and an advocate of their rights. Bilitis is the oldest active LGBTI organisation in the country and its vision is for a society, where all people have equal rights and no one is being discriminated for who they are. Nowadays Bilitis actively stands up for the elimination of all sorts of discrimination and the achievement of absolute equality of LGBTI people in Bulgaria.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

Conducting research on the needs of the LGBTI community representatives within the identified eight groups and setting advocacy goals.

After the end of the training, participants will apply their advocacy skills by organizing real advocacy inititatives planned by each group based on the group’s identified needs and opportunities to achieve the greatest impact.

Providing 6-module training to members of the eight groups aimed at enhancing their advocacy skills.

Dissemination of information for the project and on the advocacy activities and campaigns at the Rainbow Hub, inviting representatives from LGBTI communities to participate.
